Pricing in context — what Cheshire and Shropshire clients actually pay

The cost of portable toilet hire varies by provider, by region, by hire type, and by the scope of service included. Nationally published price guides give a broad range, but they rarely reflect the specific economics of a local market. Delivery distances, competitive density, fleet investment, and service standards all differ between regions.

This guide gives you realistic, locally relevant figures for Cheshire and Shropshire — the area we serve most intensively — so you can budget accurately and evaluate quotes with confidence.

What drives the price

Before looking at specific numbers, it helps to understand what actually determines the cost of hiring a portable toilet. The main variables are:

  • The type of unit: Standard, accessible, urinal block, welfare unit, luxury trailer — each has a different cost profile
  • The number of units: Volume reduces the per-unit cost through delivery and servicing efficiency
  • The duration of the hire: Longer hires attract lower weekly rates
  • The delivery distance: Further from the depot means higher fuel and driver time costs
  • Whether servicing is required during the hire: Construction hires with weekly servicing cost more than a weekend event hire with no mid-hire service
  • The time of year: Summer weekends are the busiest period for event hires, and pricing reflects demand

A single portable toilet for a weekend garden party is a fundamentally different product from five units on a construction site for six months. The price difference reflects the different logistics, service requirements, and fleet commitment involved.

Event hire — what to expect in Cheshire and Shropshire

Weekend event hire (Friday to Monday)

For a typical weekend event — a garden party, a village fete, a community gathering, a private celebration — the cost of a single standard portable toilet with delivery and collection included is in the range of eighty to one hundred and twenty pounds.

Multiple units bring the per-unit cost down. Three units for a larger event will cost proportionately less per unit than a single hire.

Wedding hire

Weddings sit at the higher end of event pricing for two reasons. First, the units need to be in exceptional condition — clean is not sufficient; they need to be immaculate. Second, Saturday delivery slots in summer are in high demand across the events industry.

Luxury toilet trailers are the most popular choice for Cheshire and Shropshire weddings. A 2+1 trailer (two female cubicles, one male with urinal) typically costs six hundred to nine hundred pounds for the weekend. A 3+1 configuration for larger weddings runs eight hundred to fifteen hundred pounds.

Standard portable toilets used as supplementary provision alongside a luxury trailer — for staff areas, evening overflow, or secondary locations — are priced at the normal event rate.

Festival and large event hire

Larger events with hundreds or thousands of attendees require a different planning approach. The provision is quoted based on the total package — standard units, accessible units, urinal blocks, and luxury trailers combined — rather than individual unit rates. We work with event organisers to create a complete provision plan that covers the full attendance safely and efficiently.

Construction site hire — weekly rates in Cheshire and Shropshire

Standard construction site toilet

Construction site hire operates on a weekly rate with servicing included. The weekly rate covers the unit itself, a weekly service visit (waste removal, cleaning, restocking, chemical treatment), and documented service records.

For a standard construction site toilet in Cheshire or Shropshire:

  • Short hires (1-4 weeks): £45 to £60 per week
  • Medium hires (4-12 weeks): £40 to £50 per week
  • Long hires (12+ weeks): £35 to £45 per week

Delivery and collection are included in our pricing. There are no separate transport charges.

Multiple units

Sites with multiple toilets benefit from more efficient delivery and servicing. Two or more units on the same site reduce the per-unit weekly rate.

Welfare units

Welfare unit hire in Cheshire and Shropshire runs between one hundred and fifty and three hundred pounds per week, depending on the size and specification. Generator hire, where needed, adds fifty to one hundred pounds per week. Delivery and collection are charged as a one-off, typically one hundred to two hundred pounds.

What is included in our prices

This is where the comparison between providers matters most. A low headline rate that excludes critical elements is not a cheaper option — it is an unclear one.

Our prices include:

  • Delivery to your site or venue
  • Setup and positioning
  • For construction sites: weekly servicing at no extra cost — waste removal, cleaning, restocking, chemical treatment
  • Fully stocked units — toilet paper, hand sanitiser, hand wash
  • Service documentation for compliance purposes
  • Collection at the end of the hire

What is not included

  • VAT: All prices are quoted plus VAT at the prevailing rate
  • Extended hire: Additional charges apply if the unit is retained beyond the agreed period, at the same weekly rate
  • Significant access delays: If site access problems cause service delays exceeding fifteen minutes per unit, additional time charges may apply. This is rare and always discussed with the site manager.
  • Damage: Normal wear and tear is expected. Wilful damage, vandalism, or theft is your liability.

Comparing quotes — what to look for

When evaluating quotes from different providers in Cheshire and Shropshire, compare like with like:

  • Is delivery included or charged separately?
  • Is weekly servicing included in the rate, or is it an additional charge?
  • Are consumables (toilet paper, sanitiser, hand wash) included?
  • Is collection included?
  • Are there fuel surcharges, environmental levies, or administration fees?

A quote that appears cheaper by ten pounds per week but excludes servicing, delivery, and collection will cost more in total than an all-inclusive quote at a slightly higher weekly rate.

Getting a quote

The most useful information you can give us when requesting a quote is:

  • What the units are for (construction, event, domestic project)
  • How many people will be using them
  • How long you need them
  • The site address or postcode

With that information, we can give you a firm price within minutes — usually over the phone. We do not charge for quotes, and we do not chase you afterwards. If the price works, book. If it does not, no hard feelings.
