Practical advice for event organisers and site managers. No fluff.
Horwich wraps around the western edge of Bolton, backed by the West Pennine Moors and close enough to the M61 to make logistics straightforward. Between the Middlebrook retail and leisure complex, regular events at the Reebok/Toughsheet Community Stadium, and the steady churn of residential building projects, demand for portable toilet hire here is consistent. We service Horwich directly from our own fleet.
Horwich is a town defined by its landscape. Rivington Pike and the West Pennine Moors sit immediately to the north, drawing fell runners, mountain bikers, charity walkers, and day-trippers throughout the year. The terrain is rough, the weather is unpredictable, and none of the moorland event sites have permanent toilet facilities. That is where we come in.
Rivington Pike is the focal point for dozens of outdoor events each year — the Pike Race, cycling sportives, charity walks, orienteering competitions, and community days on the hillsides. The Rivington Terraced Gardens, restored to their former glory after years of careful work, host seasonal events and open days that require temporary sanitation near car parks and gathering points. The Lower Rivington Reservoir area also sees events, including open-water swimming and fishing competitions.
We provide:
We know this ground. We have delivered to Rivington and the surrounding area many times, and we understand the access constraints that come with moorland sites — narrow lanes, cattle grids, and ground conditions that change with the weather.
The Middlebrook retail and leisure complex — home to the Toughsheet Community Stadium — is a major draw. Bolton Wanderers' matchdays bring thousands to the area, and the club's training facilities nearby generate additional activity during pre-season events and community days. Athletics events, corporate functions at the stadium, and the surrounding retail parks and leisure venues all create peaks in demand.
We supply units on short notice when needed and collect promptly after:
Bolton Council's development plans and private housebuilding around Horwich and the Rivington Chase area mean construction site welfare is an ongoing requirement. The Horwich Loco Works regeneration site represents one of the most significant brownfield developments in Greater Manchester — a former railway works being transformed into a new residential community. Its phased construction programme demands reliable welfare provision over extended periods.
Our offer includes:
The countryside around Horwich and Rivington is popular for outdoor weddings, marquee receptions, and private celebrations. The barns and rural venues between Horwich and Rivington attract couples looking for a dramatic Pennine backdrop, and these locations almost always require portable toilet hire — luxury trailers for the guests, standard units for catering staff and suppliers. We deliver to rural properties and estate settings across the area.
We do not just serve the town centre. Our delivery area takes in:
