Practical advice for event organisers and site managers. No fluff.
Ormskirk is a proper Lancashire market town — compact, well-connected, and busy enough to keep demand for portable sanitation ticking along through the year. Between Ormskirk's historic market, Edge Hill University events, and the agricultural shows that punctuate the West Lancashire calendar, we're delivering and collecting units here regularly. Our depot is a straight run down the motorway.
Ormskirk is a proper Lancashire market town — one of the oldest in the county, with a twice-weekly market that has been running for centuries. The town centre events calendar runs from the Ormskirk MotorFest to seasonal fairs, food festivals, and community celebrations in Coronation Park. Edge Hill University adds another layer entirely: graduation ceremonies, freshers' events, open days, and campus functions all generate demand for temporary sanitation that the permanent facilities cannot always absorb.
The MotorFest is the standout — a day that fills the town centre streets with classic cars, trade stands, food vendors, and thousands of visitors. But Ormskirk's events programme runs deeper than a single headline date. The Christmas market, charity runs through the town centre, community galas in Coronation Park, and private functions at local venues all require portable toilet provision at various points through the year.
Edge Hill University's campus hosts events that range from intimate academic gatherings to large-scale graduation days with marquees, catering, and hundreds of guests. The university's ongoing expansion programme — new teaching buildings, student accommodation, and sports facilities — has also brought construction welfare demand in its own right.
We provide:
West Lancashire is farming country. The flat, fertile land between Ormskirk and the coast produces some of the best arable yields in the North West — potatoes, carrots, and brassicas grown on a commercial scale. Agricultural shows, ploughing matches, point-to-points, and rural charity events all take place on ground that has no permanent sanitation. The Martin Mere Wetland Centre nearby also hosts seasonal events that occasionally require supplementary facilities.
We supply units that cope with field conditions:
Ormskirk and the wider West Lancashire area see steady development — housing estates, retail expansions, and infrastructure upgrades along the A59 corridor. The Edge Hill University campus itself has been subject to ongoing building work for several years, and new residential schemes on the edge of town add further demand. Our site hire service includes:
We deliver across the Ormskirk area and into the surrounding villages and communities:
Burscough in particular has seen significant development activity around the Yew Tree Farm area, and we service sites there as part of our regular West Lancashire rounds.
Ormskirk and the surrounding villages are popular for private celebrations — weddings, milestone birthdays, and garden parties in the large residential properties around Aughton and Scarisbrick. Rural venues without mains drainage rely on portable toilet hire, and our luxury trailers are a regular feature at marquee events in the area.
We own our units and run our own crews. That gives us control over quality and timing. No third-party hire companies, no inflated margins — just a direct service from depot to site and back again. Every unit is delivered clean, stocked with consumables, and serviced on a weekly cycle as part of the hire rate. The A59 gives us a direct route into Ormskirk from our Cheshire base.
